    They come in yellow and red varieties, apparently. Yours are presumably the yellow ones.

    They were red in appearance, although I don’t know if that was altered by being marinated/pickled. I definitely see how they got the nickname sweet drops. They do look like little candy drops.

    If they are not a member of the onion family, which they really look like, I'd guess pickled baby beets. I can't think of anything else outside of the onion family that has that same appearance of scale leaves, though I don't know that that is what they are called on beets.

    Is the texture soft for what they look like?

    I don't think they are. Peppers don't have those layers inside. Every variety is hollow, with a placenta and seeds.

    are you looking at Raza pic ? I guess onion and put up a pic of a type of onion then mr tribe guess biquinho peppers, but I was in two minds as could not see the stalk on Raza pic but the pic I then found of the peppers looked right so ? ....

    I did not. I saw your picture. Raza's pic, which I have just now seen, is most definitely biquinho peppers.
