    Starting that SOTC thread reminded me that it has been too long since I wore the 40Years.

    When Rado first added the rotating anchor disc to their watches back in 1957 they made the disc out of the same synthetic ruby used in the movements. Sometime in the 70s Rado replaced the ruby with coloured aluminum. One of the nice touches in the 40 years is the use of natural ruby for the disc. This shines in teh sunlight!
