Well we have been doing a more for a score - In It To Win It thread for the last couple of months so now all of the watches are in. We get to the fun bit of looking at them and voting ..

All comments are welcome voting is open to all for those who use tapacrap just say so in your post and who you want if you want to join in ... All are welcome as I say ..

There is going to be a mystery prize thanks to the kindly donation by Alan and of course the badge but think we mainly did it as a bit of fun and frolics ..

    level one winners :

round 1) crownpuller : timex ssq
    round 2) DJW : Luch 2209
    round 3) Matt : Certina
round 4) Litlmn : casio AMW
round 5) Meijlinder : tianjin Dong Feng.
    round 6) Fuzzy B : Juvenia
    round 7) Ismy : Casio MTD-1067D-1AVEF chronograph.
    round 8) Ro63rto: Seiko 5

    level two winners :

    round 1) Ro63rto: Seiko 5
round 2) Crownpuller : timex ssq

The rules well everything has to have rules

1 ) can only vote once whether by vote or post....

    2) think we don't need any more do we

These threads will run for six days for voting Sunday - Saturday.. every Saturday the winner will be put forward and the not so lucky watch will be out...

And then on the Sunday a draw will be done for the next round and so on till all the first rounds are drawn then the winners will go head to head in random draws till there is only one .....

Then they get bragging rights, gifts and badges galore .....

The two to be pulled randomly out the hat are in order of them being pulled is :

    Ismy : Casio MTD-1067D-1AVEF chronograph.
fully working 2000 - 2010 ish model in very fair con after a bit of elbow grease and cleaning up all in for 12.90 does come on a casio branded bracelet but for comp come's on a big chunky leather nato I had knocking around

    DJW : LUCH 2209
    Gains 1min 20secs in 24hrs
Matched with a white nato strap
cost 7.90 all in, needed new click spring (kindly donated by your friend and mine ISMY)

well I was not looking forward to some of the possible match up's for me and this was one of them as love Russians and love the 2209 movement and also have a bit of a fondness to the funky dial colours they do plus as it has parts in it from one of my favourite watches that died on me, I can only vote one way really, not just out of gentleness but with a warm heart and a fond memory of a black dial with gold markings and hands and a gold plated case Sekonda 2209 that gone but still not forgotten

    As always Ismy

In that case, you are in Luch!

It's in the top two of soviet movements and that one is exemplary - it just looks new inside and out.

yes of it's type maybe was saying on the more for a score that it is one of my favourite of my Russians along with the 3133 and 3017 and of course the many forms of the vostok movement

I wouldn't wear either, but the Luch is more remarkable.

    I vote Luch.

You are are quite right, I completely forgot about the chronographs. I was thinking of this and the Volna 2809, this of course has the significant advantage of not being a clone of something else and stands toe to toe with any equivalent Swiss ultra thin.

Having been a collector of around a dozen 2209s over time, my vote is clear, although I confess the Casio would make a perfect gardening watch, so would probably get more wear around our house.
Too many watches, not enough wrists.

2209 does it for me, even if the dial is not quite for me.

well with the Russian movements I would not call them clones really take the 3133 was on the lines of the early swiss cal. 7750 but then the Russian had the right to build and indeed modify it as it was theirs to do with as they pleased as they own the rights to it when they bought it in 74 was it... when poljot bought the tools and rights too it ....
