Even something as insignificant as a piece of scotch tape stuck to a cat's fur can sometimes have the same affect. I'm not sure exactly how all that works, I just know it does. Maybe if we have a vet here, they can explain.

hmm..is it ok to laugh at the misfortune of your enemies? I don't know but I certainly don't feel any sympathy.

With the cats going limp it's because the harness is in the same place as when kittens are picked up by the scruff of the neck, so with some of them it triggers the same response of total passivity. This is why the cat in the video was still purring away despite having just been dragged along on the floor, it hadn't been distressed by the experience.

Well now that's an interesting thought and may well be the correct explanation for the cat in the video. It does make a lot of sense.
The balance thing is real too though.
