    8500 silicone balance wheel/hairspring?

    Hello!

    Does my new omega have one? The new new aqua terras do, but I can't seem to work it out if mine does

    I thought they made a thing of it when fitted , i.e. they put the chemical symbol letters on it somewhere ..... Si

    Usually it's on the case back. I think some don't have the engraving though. One certain way to tell is pull the crown out and look at the black balance wheel. It will say so if it does. If not it will just say Omega I believe. You may need to stop the movement a bunch of times to get it to stop in just the right spot.

    Just checked mine. Nothing on the case back, but I have the symbol on the balance wheel. Mine was purchased in September of last year, so is likely to be older than Geoff's - so Geoff's should have the silicon bits.

    Looks like this, tricky to hack into the right spot. Keep at it. Yours should have it I think.
