When is a watch too small?
I am trying to gauge this. I recently acquired a watch at a great price, and I am trying to determine if it is too small. Changing the strap helped a LOT for the look and fit. The longer I wear it, and the more I detach from wearing oversize watches, the better it feels.
Thoughts?

A watch is only too small when you find yourself leaning towards it to tell the time.

My smallest watch is around 32mm. It's vintage and originally a U.S. Army issued watch. It's small but I wouldn't consider it too small.
The Rolex Air King is 34mm and I've never heard anyone say it can't be a man's watch. I don't think anyone would question that size unless you have a larger wrist.
I've never sold a watch for being too small, but I have sold plenty for being too large.

Just a quick comparison using photos on my phone.
46mm
41mm
32mm my son's lorus
I think for me 32mm is a step too far.
I could probably work with 35-36mm if it was a slim bezel.

I am very comfortable at 37/38mm.....often wear 38-42. My wrist is ~7-1/4. This watch is a very slim bezel Fortis 34mm. I like it, just wanted to ensure I did not look *too* silly. I am already goofy enough LOL.

Lately i've been enjoying 36,37,38, and 39mm and i personally love these size feel on the wrist...
its great to have options, so we can wear different style/size when different mood strike =)
I personally in worse condition -- would choose a bit to small than a bit to large hehe.

I can't imagine that would look too small. I have a 7-1/2" wrist. One of my smaller watches that gets quite a bit of wear is a 35mm Nomos Orion. It does have long lugs, but I think that any larger and it would look too big.

I wear my 39mm Speedy a lot and its fine, anything less than that would have to have more dial and less bezel though.

It's too small when you think it is.
