Now that you've pointed out how far the numerals are to the edge, it's bothering me.

It bothered me a bit during the development of the watch, but I told myself that it wasn't meant to be a direct copy of the original. Like you, I thought I wasn't laying out too much money (and resale was likely to be easy), so I'd try it and see.

Still bothered me... but most people think it's fine.

I don't really like putting people off something that they're enthused about, but had I handled the watch before purchase, I may not have bought it.

Understood, and I didn't look at the original until you mentioned that issue. I have been fairly vociferous in my disdain for that "style" of watch, however, the blue hands, diamond crown, brushed portion of the case and sandwich dial is too much for me to dismiss.
