Power reserves on ageing watches

I took advantage of having one of my autos on my wrist for a few days to test the PR of my five working manuals. I wound them fully, set them to 12 o'clock and laid them down in a line.

1. late 70s Luch 2209 - 20h 25
2. late 60s Wostok 2209 - 30h 25
3. mid 70s Poljot 2209 - 35h 45
4. 1971 Seiko 7000 - 36h 30
5. 1968 Seiko 6100 - 40h 10

I'm aware that there are far too many variables here to make any of this remotely useful in terms of the data proving anything.

On the other hand, knowing that my Luch does indeed have a PR of less than 24 hours is very useful info

I would say 36 hours is about the norm. Wish I could help on the Luch. I have an Omega HW that runs almost that long rather accurately. Everyone says it should run over 36 hours. Even with a new mainspring, it does not.

Yeah the Luch is accurate too. Just need to wind it at both ends of the day

Now I think about it, it doesn't take individual winds before it's done. It only requires 14 turns, whereas the theoretically identical Poljot needs 23. And the Skyliner at least 30.

At least it's all vaguely proportional!
