I used to have to work abroad in some very interesting places and always took up their offers when they allowed me to spend a couple of days at the end of the trip at my own expense. I always made a point of searching out local guides etc to show me places no tourist would go. I have some tales to tell!

The only answer to that is to tell them! If there are pictures too then that's even better!

I love searching at random for old threads - funny what you find. This, for example - Matt brought something small and cute OhDark30 liked so much that she bought it off him....

I was almost immediately struck by the case on the left - this one:
It's a classic case shape and that bezel is way beyond lush, especially if it just happens to be a twisty 24 hour bezel of a Thunderbird style
Now it's pretty clear that the movement is foxed, most of the hands are missing and the crown is no more, but look at it; It's utterly beautiful. More to the point, it has rather a lot of surface wear, taking it to that random wabi patina that is almost a finish in itself. However, the numbers are not worn in the slightest and are in as good or better a condition than the metal around them. It's too much to hope for, but well worth a punt that they are beautifully mounted ceramic and that takes that case somewhere very special indeed.
The dial may well be fine, but what I can see doesn't look half as nice as the case and that leaves my options wide open. I'm just a bit excited!
Watch this space...
I'm jealous! That's just the kind of things I love to find myself!
Looking forward to the finished result! :-)
Peace,
Preston

I have to say, that that watch looks so much better on OD3's wrist, so I'm delighted at the trade. However, I'm still hanging out for her to use the prop I gave her for it!
As for the project watch. It was all coming along nicely until I went to pop the bezel on (having had it on and off a few times) and it suddenly fell in half. So that's just bits in the spares box now sadly.
Mind you, no such problems with the Zodiac which has passed my stringent noise testing with flying colours:
In fact, I'd say it's Vulcan wonderful!

^^^^ plus a second like for the use of Vulcan as in intensifier. The wondrousness was vulcanised.
