The Blues Brothers also did a version. I like the one Ray posted, and play a fairly similar version on my (Eastwood) Airline Map Guitar through my Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue. Sounds killer (IMO anyway).
For Apache (especially Hank Marvin fans) check out this "solo" version.... I really need to switch over to playing that tune on a Strat (I even have the proper "Fiesta Red", though no gold hardware). But I usually play all the surf stuff on the Airline.
Amp in the middle....

No I didn't say it was the original, but as the Instrumental rock version it's pretty unique. It got lots of radio airplay on the big AM top 40 stations.

I think that big Ghost Riders twang sound is probably done with a Stratocaster (although I'm no expert.) If you want to hear some Telecaster scratch here's "Out of Limits."

I'm familiar with "Out Of Limits" and pretty sure you're right about the Telecaster (though I can't recall where I got that notion).
You may be right about the Stratocaster on Ghost Riders, though in the back of my mind I keep thinking Jaguar. Nearly certain to have been a Fender of some sort anyway. And that's the funny part, as iconic as Fenders are to Surf Music (and how they make up the majority of my collection), I just seem compelled to play it on the Airline. Humbuckers instead of single coils don't make sense, yet with a healthy dose of reverb and perhaps a bit of tremolo from the Deluxe, it sounds quite proper when I play it (or Pipeline, Walk Don't Run, etc. etc.). The Bigsby does lend itself quite nicely to a surf sound, despite being quite different from the Fender systems. Got to say, that stuff (hearing or playing) just brings a smile to my face every time, without fail.

According to Google, Tommy Tedesco played on "Out of Limits" and he was a Telecaster virtuoso.
A bit more of Tommy, Leon Russell, Hal Blaine and the Wrecking Crew here:
