The Bond films have been running virtually non stop from xmas until today over here in UK -i realise they were entertaining at the time of conception - but watching them now they seem technically so dreadful in almost every aspect of film-making - also almost certainly in this current climate , Bond would have been regarded as a male slag and sexual predator !!
the recent Bonds' are great action movies with less peeping from behind shower curtains going on and the females have been empowered to become more than a match for Bond -
the fashion choices in the image do seem to clash but one would need to see the set scene -it may well be it seems on a cold day he is wearing gloves between takes -it may well be that his feet will not be in shot so he is wearing his warmest most comfortable boots
on a driving point -the choice of shoes would be far more important than driving gloves - these boots are not for driving a fast car !!!

So far, he's worn five different watches in three films, with a possible two more in this new film. He's one of us!
He did it a lot in the older movies.

Here is a list of the watches he wore.

But very few people know or care about the opinion of fashionistas...

and they're a fickle bunch, capable of complete U-turns when a trend-setter changes the game.

In the older films, it wasn't so overt. Sean Connery is wearing a thin dress watch (some say it was a Gruen, but I've yet to read of conclusive proof) in his classic introduction in "Dr No" in '62, and later switches to the Submariner on leather once he arrives in Jamaica. In "Thunderball", he again wears the Sub, and also a Breitling Top Time when he goes looking for the nukes.
While the Submariner appeared in both " From Russia With Love" and "Goldfinger", we never really catch another glimpse of Bond's watch in "You Only Live Twice" or "Diamonds Are Forever" and it's not until "On Her Majesty'sSecret Service" when the Rolex Cosmograph gets a close-up.
The Roger Moore era returned a Submariner to Bond's wrist before the dreaded digitals take over.
Timothy Dalton wore a Heuer in " The Living Daylights" and a Submariner 16800 in "Licence To Kill".
And then Pierce Brosnan stuck to the Omega Seamaster Professional during his tenure as Bond.
It just seems that the Daniel Craig Bonds have really ramped-up the wristwatch side of things. There were no close-ups of his Seamaster in "Casino Royale", but we got that wonderfully-written exchange on the train between Bond and Vesper Lynd where she looks at his watch, asks if it's a Rolex, and Bond simply says "Omega". She replies; "Beautiful."
The watch didn't need a close-up. People came into my store in droves to buy that watch after that film was released.
Bond did indeed have a few watch changes per film in the past, but it's definitely been rammed down our throats in recent years.

Oh, I agree. Whenever the old 'match your belt, shoes and watch strap' debate comes up, I get confused. What do I wear with a steel watch bracelet? Steel-capped boots? A chain around my waist? A suit of armor?
