But what a week for results! Almost nothing went the way I expected, apart from ManU who are looking like they’ve long forgotten the days when the wheels had firmly come off the OGS bus.

I chose the word carefully—Liverpool players have had their shirts all but pulled off without a penalty being called!

Watching the League 1 playoffs today. Have to say I have quite enjoyed it. Lots of graft and tackles flying in.

Has anyone been paying attention to the situation at Wigan? It is so bizarre.

It is. Somebody buys it for £40 million a month ago and then puts it into administration, wrecking their investment?
Very odd indeed.

Absolutely robbed. Well played to Nick Pope and Burnley, but the Salah offside was clearly and obviously wrong and that led to Burnley’s goal and Liverpool should have had a penalty for that egregious foul on Robertson.
Still, Pope was excellent. I can see him ousting Pickford as England’s No. 1.

I was listening to podcast on the situation. Basically a company called IEC owned them but this January sold the club to a company called Next Leader Fund that consisted of the chairman of IEC and this other guy with chairman of IEC owning 51% of the club. Then it comes out the ownership situation switches so now the chairman of IEC isn't the majority shareholder and the day that happens the new owner puts Wigan in administration. Especially weird considering Wigan was fairly financially stable for a championship team.
I have heard rumors that it may have to do with betting in the far East. If Wigan gets the 12 point penalty that a team gets for entering administration, they would drop into the relegation zone.
