    Total Solar Eclipse - Anyone witnessed one?

    Woukd really like to see one, has anyone on IWL?

    I witnessed one in the UK back in the 90's.
    Quite a surreal experience as it goes really cold, all the birds stop and everything goes quiet.

    Yep, I saw that one, too - Not sure if '98 or '99, but around then. Quite eerie.
    I remember standing in the car park at work, watching it through my welding mask

    Yes, at sea. Gorgeous. Shadows are spectacular image of the crescent before and after totality.

    Did the exact same thing, watched it through a welding mask, think it was summer 1999

    I've seen one total solar eclipse, in 1976 when I was 13 yrs old. Awesome and very eerie. It's an event must have really freaked out some ancient peoples.

    I saw one a few decades ago as a kid, but never as an adult.

    It's on my bucket list of sorts.
