You Guys Realize The Apple Watch Is Going To Flop, Right?

Interesting take that I can't find much to disagree with:

Yup, pretty much agree with all of that.

2.5hrs of battery, wow, thats terrible

Most interesting thing from my perspective is that except when its being used the screen will be blank, a big blank on your wrist. Which is kinda the opposite of what I'm wanting from a watch

So if I buy this I will still need to carry my phone to actually do anything, still need to carry a wallet to pay for anything and may as well still wear a watch as this may go flat. If I am the sort of person who likes to have a fitness tracker wrist band I've probably got one and they don't cost this much.
I am unclear as to exactly what extra this will bring to my life.

It's not what it brings to your life that matters. It's what it takes from you. Cash.

I could see the Huawei being successful, but I will not be getting one of those either.

Haven't had a chance to read the article yet, but 2.5hrs battery? How is that even remotely acceptable, no wonder they've been so quiet about it.

edit: read the article, tough to disagree with him.

A need to be near a power source every 2.5 hours

Told you battery would be crap, battery tech (for that volume right now) can't fill the void , so they're gonna have to slow the processor down and do other power shedding stuff.

Everyone I know who has bought a Smartwatch so far is no longer wearing it.

I think there will be an initial run on them being Apple and all but it will be interesting to see who will attach end up continuing to us them.

Why can't the brains at Apple develop this concept, a mechanical rotor to power a digital display. Or why not a bit of solar energy to top up battery.

Just patiently waiting until we all get microchips implanted at the base of our skull, then this will all be moot.........
