    Things you find irrationally joyful...

As a counterpoint to this thread, http://www.intlwatchleague.com/showt...nal-dislike-of, I thought it might be interesting to share those things that make you smile or laugh way more than they should. Things that other people look at you askance when you admit a fondness for them, or that make your loved ones and children flush with embarrassment when you raise them in conversation. Guilty pleasures, if you will...

    Here are some of mine:

    Billy Madison

This is by no means a good film, it's crass, stupid and not even that well made, and yet I can watch it endlessly, doubled over with laughter. I can't explain why, which makes it all the more wonderful.

    Commando

When people ask what my favourite Arnie movie is and I say Commando they often frown, but I'd go so far as to say it might be my favourite American action movie. It does lots of things wrong, but so many right, an almost surreal mix of homo-eroticism, mawkish sentimentality, terrible jokes and ridiculously gratuitous violence.

Look-a-likes where the names are deliberately reversed
This one is harder to explain, but never fails to crack me up. Take 2 people who look similar, put pics of them side by side, and then deliberately reverse the names. I can't find an example of it, but imagine this with the names reversed.

When the editor interjected in the Beano
This may be lost on people who aren't British and of a certain age, but when you used to get a comment ostensibly from the editor in a Beano story, like "That's enough of that - Ed". There's something post-modern about it that appealed to me as a child and still does now.

Classical music and jazz. I can't put my finger on it but those two just make me giddy.

River Road with its twists and turns and straightaways. A hot summer night. Led Zep blasting from the radio. My Mustang convertible with the top down doing 70 mph while the stars twinkle overhead and the wind whips away everything but sensation.
