Not grabbing you? Also great, look for something else
Pics with the red, let’s see how it looks :-)
    Aren't you a little she-!
I see where it's going: I get the strap, it's going to be too much with the Glycine and then I'll have to buy a watch that matches the red strap!
    (But hey, sounds like fun!)

OK, I have one for the group...if I wanted to change this strap out, which way would you go?

It's dark brown which goes against all my sensibilities, but I really like it, likely because it is so dark it can be misconstrued for a black strap. Just looking to see what you all would do here for a replacement. Thanks.
This one's tough for me, tbh.
Two ways to go I'd see: make it sportier or keep it dressy on leather but with a twist.
I have little clue about how to make it sportier -- possibly with a two-tone bracelet?
Dressy with twist -- I'm thinking something like high-gloss burgundy or deep dark green?

Let's make this a bit more complicated ( ): watch and strap don't live all alone in the ether, therefore, they're not a single entity, per se. The perfect combo should take into consideration not only the watch/strap but their match to what a person wears and to the surrounding 'environment' (or context).

    Now, how did I go?

    For example:

this vintage Seamaster was supposed to have some connections to the automobile world so, a perforated strap with red on black, should work

while a red and blue stitched black strap would fail

    Name: Omega_Soccer_36a.jpg
Views: 213
Size: 478.8 KB

unless there's another blue element to match

    Name: Omega_Soccer_5.jpg
Views: 224
Size: 397.9 KB

    Another example:

    I like this combo:

    Name: Breguet_Type_31.jpg
Views: 243
Size: 349.7 KB

but it wouldn't work here, so I changed it:

    Name: Breguet_Type_51b.jpg
Views: 223
Size: 462.5 KB

    And just one more:

This combo is almost perfect - simple black strap with white stitching 'vintage' style

    Name: Longines Heritage 1951_31c.jpg
Views: 237
Size: 281.0 KB

unless a particular context demands a change:

    Name: Longines Heritage 1951_41c.jpg
Views: 252
Size: 417.2 KB

IMHO it's always watch/strap and context or...you do whatever you like and that's fine too. Not complicated, after all.

On the red strap for the red dial: when colors are "close, but not exact", they often clash strongly. I think you need an exact match for this to work.

(You don't have to have any particular combo in mind, open questions welcome, visuals encouraged). If the thread turns out useless or unpopular, it will die a natural death and that's OK.

    I'll allow myself to start:

    Hmm?
I'm almost certain it would be an overkill, but there's still something tempting...
As someone who has owned a few wild coloured watches over the years, I agree matching the dial colour can be tricky, and can end up *de*emphasizing a bold colour

I’d try plain and subdued, so the red really pops, to pep up the look

or totally bonkers, with clash & texture

I’d go for a richer, warmer brown with some texture to warm up the look

Black dial watch with olive rubber?

The black OEM rubber on 372 looks boring so I got the dark green and olive rubber

My 368 is on OEM dark brown rubber

Besides the watch sometimes the combo needs to match the person. I had yellow dial Michael Schumacher Speedmaster with the matching yellow OEM strap which on the watch looked fine, but it just does not fit me as a look. The same with the Red/black Arnold and Son on the OEM red rubber strap. Just not a good color on me. Now orange on the other hand seemed to work on me, but blue with blue is best.

Sometimes a dark/light in between works? I found this one to have been real nice back in its time.

My favourite combo, thanks for posting, Dan!
I do love the black dial on brown leather look: that’s one of my top takeaways from the forums
Before, I thought you ‘had’ to have them on black
