Thread: Behold the Moon!

    Behold the Moon!

I've always had a thing for moon phase complications. What are some of your favourites? So many, so I'll start with one just to get it rolling.

Stunning! I think the Blancpain is the absolute best, but here are a few others.

I especially like the FC for the simplicity and the Lange for the movement.

Not saying I would wear any of these, but I've to admit that Sarpaneva has some cool "moons"

I agree that a moonphase is an essential complication.

I have the FC Moon in blue and it is delightful. It does not get enough wristime but I can't see myself letting it go. I am sure the ALS movement is lovely but the FC is no slouch either. It is an in-house movement that allows you to set both the date and moonphase with the crown in the first position (hours and minute hands set thru the second position). Most have a separate crown or pusher for the moonphase.

That face is very familiar. I have the Sarpaneva app on my i-phone.

I always think of the JLC MUT 39 Moonphase as the quintessential moonphase.

    I love those Sarpanevas...

As I opened the thread, I thought: find some Sarpaneva pictures. No need, CFR had done it.

I always thought this was a really nice moonphase. It's hard to convey the textures in a pic but in person it's really nice. I like this minimalist style where there's no face and it's not yellow with stars and stuff, it's not being so entirely obvious it's a moon.

I was not aware of that, thank you.

I have contemplated buying the FC moon phase and resisted temptation so far -- you're not helping.
