What? A Grand Seiko next for Geoffbot? What a novel idea

Great review! Thanks for sharing that. And I love that ten beat video. :-)

I'll probably end up like germy - off to the GS AD to get me a 001, just have a quick peek in the Rolex AD, come away with a sub

Great watch! Too bad it's so hard (read : impossible) to get your hands on one in my country, cos there are no AD's.

Indeed it is. I have a few watches that live with me over a year now, i might do some reviews on them too....

What JP should have done was got his SBGH a lady friend. Then over the course of a year, they can mate.....

I'm just amazed at how that dial can change appearances like that. The closeup pictures make the dial look like a standard, solid, white dial but it goes all magical when the light really hits it.

Based on my limited experience of the one GS I own and the one other I've seen in the wild, Seiko makes some of the most dynamic dials available. Domo's lovely green Hi-Beat is a great example. My wallet is happy I never saw one of those in person.

When I encountered Tribe125's GS one thing which I hadn't even considered but which impressed me very much was how the case felt to the touch: the facets look fantastic and clear, but to the touch the edges are all silky smooth
