Had a drive in a friends remapped Alfa 156 2.4JTD.
Mapped to over 300bhp but more importantly nearly 380 lb/ft torque. A right monster.

One I wouldn't mind owning is an eighth genereation Mitsubishi Galant VR4 Type S.
2.5litre twin turbo V6
4 wheel drive, 276bhp 0-60 in around 6secs.
All in a normal ish looking estate shell.

Vw phaeton - the w12 version does 0-60 in 5.9

Twice as many cylinders and it's still slower to 60 than my Z4.

But then it probably weighs twice as much
My brothers VW bug is close to 6secs but then it does have a tuned 2litre motor and race box.

6 secs is about what a Honda Accord V6 takes to get to 60mph.

But it's stealth! And uber comfortable apparently - nicer inside than an s class; not quite as nice as a Roller. And it hits 180mph.

It's an old car, alright! My knowledge is a little dated tbh; it extends only until when I stopped subscribing to top gear magazine about 7 years ago.
