A month or so ago I saw a ....more expensive watch with those on, also from the same era, but iirc with a better reason for having electrical signs!
The gold markers and hands give a glow to the whole dial. I can never decide if the silver dial has a hint of gold in their, or if it's just tone from the hands etc
