Thread: When just one detail makes a watch.....

When just one detail makes a watch.....

What do I dislike about this watch?

The bezel, the roman numerals, the magnifying glass...

....but I love that off centre 24 hour ring.

So much so that I like coming across pictures of the watch. And I really *do* dislike the bezel, the numerals, the cyclops (think how much more enjoyable it would be if Nomos had been given the design brief....)

What do you like despite your better judgement?

    Sabotage, hehe
    A reply at last..
That watch is a total thread killer - there's unlikely to be another in the world so naff yet marginally redeemed in one person's eyes by an hour ring that I couldn't look at without thinking 'hula hoop'
    :-)
It's the final countdown! PM me before they're all gone!

I didn't reply because I can't think of a watch I would dislike but like due to a single feature.

I did think about replying, but couldn't think of a single watch that fulfilled the criteria for inclusion. Any post from me would therefore have been gratuitous.

I've never understood why so much disdain is held towards this (and Yachtmaster II) at the other place.

It was always one of those where people go "ew" but never say why and it was just accepted.

Really? You think it is what might generally be considered a good-looking watch like the jlc moon or something?

I find its design full of ostentatious signifiers of luxury without it actually pleasing my eye at all. Except for that cute off-centre 24 hour dial.
