I really need to stop dropping by my regular AD so regularly…
He is less than 10min walk from my office, and it’s one of the routes that I take when lunching. I drop by often enough for chats (not just about watches), try out new pieces, and just pass sometime – my way of de-stress. Mind you, all these are done within the lunch hour (ok, maybe sometimes slightly longer).
And about 2 weeks ago, I made the “mistake” of doing the same. While chatting, he brought out two pieces, just for fun, to show me. I like them both, even though these are not watches that I have been stalking. In fact, at the start of the year, I was telling myself that I should only be looking at a 3 hander, with no date.
I held them both in my hands, put each piece on to test its size, comfort, legibility under different lighting….man…. couldn't find fault with either one, even though both are chronos, with a date!
After some thoughts, I left the shop, but at the back of my mind, I was debating if I should go ahead, and if so, which one would it be.
Enough rambling… here are the two contenders.
After much deliberation over the last few days, I have finally decided on one of them. Before I reveal which one I pulled the trigger on, I thought maybe it would be fun to hear your thoughts. What do you think of each piece? And if it were you, which would you pick (disregard your collection – just purely based on these two pieces). Your responses will not change my mind, but will only help me to become wiser when I pick my next piece.
I shall reveal the one I picked later and my reasons for picking it.

like the case off the first and the dial off the second lol I know that's not really helpful but oh well it's true

Not a huge Breitling fan but it wins by a large margin for me. Much more aesthetically pleasing to my eye.
And truth be told if I owned that Zenith i'd always be thinking "but I prefer the tri-coloured classic"

Breitling - by a big margin.
I don't see much harmony in the elements of the Zenith. You could replace the word 'Zenith' with just about any other (and less expensive) name. The Breitling has a relaxed 'rightness'. The Breitling also has a 12hr totaliser which I like to see on a chronograph.

i think the zenith would be my pick if it was on leather or a normal metal bracelet. in that setting tho, i'd say brietling.
