Finally managed to get my grail

I've longed for a Rado Diastar 40 for such a long time but, as only 600 were made, they come up for sale so rarely.
Anyway, I found one the other day and it is now on its way to England.
Only a couple of sellers pics at the moment but you'll be seeing much more of this once it arrives.

It's from 2002, so will actually be one of my newest watches, and is currently winging its way from the Far East.
The first time I saw Henry's I was struck by the clean white dial and the contrast with the blue hands and markers.
Where does one go from here..?

It's hard to explain but the look is so understatedly classy with the clean white dial (the only Rado with such a dial, I think).
It's the most modern Rado that still has the classic Diastar 1 look and the blue on the hands and markers add that little bit of Rado funk.
I also think, and Henry will probably put me straight on this, that it was the first Rado with an exhibition case back.
In summary, this is the classic early Diastar brought into the 21st century while remaining faithful to the original.

That's beautiful...nice pick up! I'm a sucker for white or silver dials with blue or gold hands. I can see why this was so appealing to you.

Congratulations again. Depending on the day, I consider it the best looking Diastar ever or one of the three best ever. I think the Coupole Auto may be the very first display back Rado, making the DS 40 the second. Unless I am wrong about the Coupole.

I know you got the papers- did you snag the box too?
