This is shady as ****. Govberg has a new GMT Batman for $20,950 when I’m certain they’ve got at least a year long waiting list. I sense some malfeasance afoot.

I would not be surprised if Rolex does not say something to them even if it is a legitimate trade in.

That much is true, definitely.


But if I had "used stock" worth more than 200% of what I can sell it for new, why wouldn't I "sell" it, "buy it back", and then resell? I have a hard time envisioning a scenario in which that's not what's happening here.

Since I’ve heard it from several AD they would have the authorization pulled for doing this. All other AD would be happy to report them. More potential watches for them.

Every time I consolidate, the decisions get tougher as I truly want a few keepers this time around. That's what made me look at the Zenith again as I have been staring at that watch for years now, so there must be something to it after all this time.

If I look at the SOTC, it is something like this now...

VC - GADA and chronograph wrapped into one watch. It really does it all well IMO.

Ball X-Lume - my bang around at the beach, more casual watch.

Tourby pilot - Not sure where this fits as I've never collected "types" of watches, more "categories". I like it though and it gets good wrist time.

So, of the options I'm looking at, this is where I see them fitting, or not ...

OP 39 - I very much like stealth simplicity of this, but as I'm wearing the VC almost every day now, will it get wrist time as an alternate GADA?

Explorer II - is it another sport watch, the big brother to the Ball and the myriad of dive watches I have? To me, even though I liked the idea of the OP39 as a GADA, I believe this would get more wrist time as an alternate to the VC.

Zenith - could this be my "dressy" option? Now, that is filled by the Mido Commander, but I don't wear that often..however, I like the looks of this Zenith so much, I feel I'd wear it fairly frequently.

So, there you go....Tribe was absolutely spot on, it may come down to the Zenith and Explorer II, but if I get the Zenith, I will still get the Rolex.

Did you ditch the SMP? On the Zenith I’m kind of the same way with the ultra thin elite. I’ve had two of them but they don’t stay. That still doesn’t stop me from looking but it won’t stay. My GS is more universal.
