That’s very nice looking. But that seems like an absurd amount of money for an IWC that’s time-only, not particularly water resistant, and only a hair thinner than a Rolex Submariner. $7,250? For $50 less, you can get a Globemaster with a bracelet that’s only 0.2mm thicker and has much better water resistance, a 15,000 gauss protected movement, METAS cert, et al. If you don’t want the bracelet, the leather is a few hundred less.

I just don’t see what the IWC is doing to justify its price. Which is, admittedly, a problem I have with most IWCs.

Once upon a time, I lusted after the IW Portugueuse. I still think it's a beautiful watch, but there are are others that do the same thing for me, and more, for less money. That is a gorgeous watch, but I don't fully understand why IWCs command such a high price, either.
Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Same. I remember when it had the 7750 in and was like £5k and people complained. So they put an in house movement in and upped the price to £10k and everyone complained more

They got back to me saying it's 5cm in length and 5 in width, but I think that's bollocks. I found a retailer who told me it's 42mm with 20mm lug width. That would match my eleif measurement when using the only number they give on the site, 49mm, as the reference:

So it looks like no teal Луч for me, but I'll still see into that charity thingy.
