What do you think of these Seikos'?
I ordered the SDGM001, the cream/champagne dial version a couple of weeks or so ago, but when Rakuten asked me to complete the deal, I didn't. Not sure why, but I think because this reminds me so much of a GS that perhaps I thought I should get the black dial version to mimic my beloved, departed SBGR083?
I want another GS for sure, but if it were you, would one of these scratch the itch for a much lower price? The bracelet is so similar to GS and the case to the 44GS re-edition SBGR083 that I, have I said this before, miss dearly.
I'm just not sure if this will be anther one of those watches that seems like a good idea and then, I still want what I originally thought. I know some will say "wait to buy what you want", but really, once I got my GO, my desire to spend a lot of money on watches has dissapated.
What do you think....does it look close enough to a GS (minus the dial pattern which I could live with in the black version...maybe that's why I canned the other one) to scratch that itch in your opinion?

And check this video out!!!

Thanks for your thoughts IWL friends!
Cheers,
Walter

1) Doesnt look too much like a GS. Tis the Seiko DNA.
2) Black ftw. That video should be x rated.
3) How much and where can I get one?

Wow! Those are just beautiful. I'm not normally a fan of black dials, but that one is just amazing. I think either of these would scratch that itch very nicely.

Yeah, the video kind of seals the deal, doesn't it? At Seiya for $659 and either Higuchi or Chino, forget which one for $630. SDGM001 (cream/champagne dial) and SDGM003. They are currently JDM but I read somewhere that Seiko would be bringing the Brightz series out elsewhere....when and where I don't know.

Thanks for chiming in, Sherry! I always appreciate your opinions. Hey, did you watch the video? It sells the watch!

Looks great be interesting to get your feedback on this compared to the GS. Of course there is a noticeable difference in finish but it still looks great and can't think of anything with a better finish for that kind of money. Love the cream color. I'm pretty much anti black dials these days

I did. Pure watch porn. And at the mid-600 dollar price point, these are an absolute steal!

I originally thought the cream dial too as I really like the blue second hand, but the black has a lot less of the texture apparent that bugs me a bit. If they made this in the same color dial as your 001 or a white/silver flat dial and the blue second hand....this would be a done deal. Yes, the finish, upon close examination on the video is not as good as GS, but as you said, it's dang good for the $$$.

Stainless with Diashield which is a coating or process similar to DLC application, according to what I've read. It's supposed to resist scratches.
I know that Comfotex, within the context I've seen, has applied to Titanium, however, everything I've seen on these says they're SS. Have you seen a Comfotex reference to these somewhere?
