    whole things confuse me some times but mainly with the seiko and pulsar chrono's as with them you can make a costly mistakes if not careful

    so by their reckoning the one on op was the civilian which we knew and the only difference was where got from but still can not be called g10 as no mil marking

    Yes, I mention 6B and 6BB in post #6.

    But I think the DEFSTAN specs were withdrawn without being replaced, and that it’s now just a matter of NATO stock numbers - which are essentially bureaucratic. Sometimes the MoD just goes out and buys watches off the shelf (or out of the distributor’s warehouse) like the rest of us.

    Sadly, the train-spotterish element of military watches has been severely compromised.

    Although these days there may well be some issued watches without caseback markings. This seems to be the case with Citizen divers, Suuntos and so on.
