Well, now I don't know. Merely channelling someone else's weakness instead of growing one's own might be considered cheating.

I really wanted this watch maybe a couple of years ago (maybe longer) .... but it was discontinued and that (apparently) was that.
They did do a date version I think in the intervening times... but I wanted the date-less version .... dial pared right down to nothing extraneous.
So I looked elsewhere...... I saw a Guinand model last year and I was going to go for it.... but it was too big at 42mm ... and a big chunk of change (£1500) , same hand set more or less , blunt, chopped off hour hand which was a big draw to it for some reason. It just looks ‘right’

So I resigned myself to forgetting it .... and resigned myself to overtaking on the right and passing straight on by......
THEN in recent days I saw Crownpuller’s new acquisition.....
and that’s when, after a little research, that I it was the model I’d been yearning for - and it was back ! As an anniversary edition with the unadorned dial .....
This was at weekend ..... and here it is !
I wasn’t planning on another watch
but I’m happy I’ve got one now..
I’ve ended up doing an Alan Tribe now .... but probably without the grace of one of his stories
See? Now you seem authentic and I'm inclined to believe there indeed is some kind of bond between you and this Speedbird!

Highly complicated decision process. Mine is (used to be) simpler: like it, can afford it, buy it.
Anyway, it's a good looking, no frills piece. Quite likable, indeed.
Congrats, Mike!

“The next Tuesday” complication is because Timefactors is currently only opening the online store on a Tuesday each week, so he can manage his work and leisure time for the remainder of each week I guess.
so I had to wait for a Tuesday.

When he’s got a hit on his hands it’s so that he can ship the same week. He’s packing and shipping flat out at those times.
