I decide what my maximum is and then place it with less than thirty seconds to go. If someone's maximum is higher than mine, so be it. There's enough watches in the world, such as the very nice Seiko on my wrist right now, that I don't need to try outcompete people happy to throw money at battered old watches.

I dunno, sometimes my maximum isn't that sensible But I like my price to be dictated by my choices, not other people's.
And also I don't like to give people time to rethink their maximum in light of mine
