    Anyone know a good plumber in South London

    Thursday the kitchen drain backed up. No amount of rodding would clear it so Friday morning called Thames water. They eventually came out and cleared it.

    This morning, woke up to a bigger problem.

    Immersion heater sprung a leak

    Yes, Pimlico are normally good but not cheap. And part of their business model is selling you extras so watch out for that if you use them.

    Thanks but I saw a program on PP
    They have to charge those prices to afford all those private number plates
    Will definitely be avoiding them.
    Just looked at home insurance. Excess is £350 so may as well pay to have the ceiling redone rather than claim.

    Found a plumber through word of mouth.

    All this damage because of a pinhole leak!
    And it in the most awkward place. Inside edge of a 22mm next to another pipe and it's above a wall so without cutting an access hole in the ceiling in the living room ....

    Aaaaaaand it goes on

    After fixing the pinhole leak, we woke up to another leak in the living room.
    After cutting away more ceiling, it was found the pair of 28mm pipes that go from boiler to water heater coils are majorly corroded so all 16metres have to come out and be replaced

    A newly-built hospital I once worked in had to have its plumbing stripped out when it was discovered that the copper was porous.

    It happens if too much crappy flux is allowed to go into the pipes during soldering. It'll eat the copper from the inside. Also can be impurities in the water.

    Either way a pain in the proverbial.
