RADO have just dropped a rather nice looking Limited Edition Captain Cook; the RADO Tradition Captain Cook Automatic Limited Edition watch.

The watch is a reinterpretation if you will of an historic Rado model from the 1960s and has a lovely retro aesthetic.

In addition to the overall vintage design that closely echoes that of the 1962 original, the watch is largely characterized by a gorgeous sunburst bronze dial.

But also thanks to its throwback dimensions; a meek 37.3mm in diameter by 11.1mm thick watch case with a lug-to-lug measurement of just 43mm. That's a tiddler!

The bronze dial BTW is furnished with oversized luminous indexes and that iconic chunky arrow?shaped hour hand and sword minutes.

The modest 37mm Stainless steel case is fitted with a diverís bezel blasting Radoís signature scratch-resistant ceramic inlay and a Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.

Further divers features include: a screw-down solid Stainless case-back with a whimsical starfish and seahorse motif, a signed screw-down crown and a water-resistant 100m.

Personally, I'm less hung up on WR these days but another 20 - 50m would be better, no?

Power comes from a Swiss automatic C07 (ETA Cal. C07.611) with up to 80 hours of power reserve and operating at 3Hz.

The new Captain Cook is a Limited Edition of just 1962 pieces and is delivered in a durable tan leather travel pouch with a selection of additional straps.

You can choose from either a brown vintage-style leather strap, a fine-knit Milanese mesh Stainless steel bracelet or a hard-wearing brown textile NATO strap.

If you go to RADOís website there is an exclusive Ďhow toí video teaching you how to quickly and easily swap out straps.

The watch has an MSRP of 2100USD.

BTW, the good-looking chap in the photos isnít me; I mean Iím good looking too Ė just isnít me :D ^-^ ;)

Thoughts? Actually Iíd really love one of these Ė if only it were a little bit bigger and Iíd slap my money where my mouth is, but 37mm is too tiddly! What do you think?
