The quartz Grand & Kings are great. They’re a bit more adventurous in their designs than the mechanical. I’ve had a few king quartz and lord quartz, and I try and keep an eye out for a Superior too, but they seem to be above what I’m looking to spend.

Though not nearly as may as the Pogue, I guess obtaining a 6105 diver has had three attempts to get a decent one. All three that I have restored would not pass WR pressure tests because of the bayonet crown seal. They seem to wear out and there is not anything that can be replaced to get two new seating surfaces. In a hidden foot note from Basel I found a solution that was Seiko has finally done a reissue of the 6105 in the SLA033. Luckily I was able to snag one since they sold out before Hodinkee and others could publish their articles on the announcement. Will post a picture when I can find one.

I just have the one old Seiko; my first 'More for a Score' entry:

Actually, I also have a similar black-dialed one (bought as a pair), but it keeps stopping and I've not gotten around to sorting it out.

As for the 6105 - I'm reasonably content with Eddie's tribute:

    Not properly, no
I cleaned it up and got it running, but it kept randomly stopping and I couldn't see where the problem was/is; so kind of lost enthusiasm for it. I'll fetch it out for another look at some point, though no idea when that's likely to be.
