Blah blah - watch stuff you don't get

Reading an enthusiastic post about the joys of a particular Seiko diver and I find myself being reminded of this Far Side cartoon, I'm totally missing most of the content like Ginger here

I've tried so hard to *get* dive watches, but they all (seriously) look the same to me
Which WIS enthusiasms pass you by?
Feel free to unburden yourself here
It's the final countdown! PM me before they're all gone!

Well, it's simple. You think you didn't understand, but that's just an unconscious defence mechanism because you are scared (probably hysterically so) of your deep seated (but long denied) passion for Seiko divers. Fortunately, by a complex and hard to master psychoanalytic technique I like to call 'making stuff up' I will leave you free to pull the trigger you don't even know you want to pull...

Quite clearly the owner is telling the dog that it is a Bad Boy and I think you know what that means...

The message couldn't be clearer: you unconsciously yearn to pull the trigger on a bad boy Seiko diver and you are symbolic guiding yourself towards the birthday gift you want:

You may swoon now if you wish!

    Many happy returns 0D3

I agree - That's why you only need one, unless you have a puck too

I have a UHR diver and the awesome Puck that can have your eye out !

Dive watches here too, especially the boutique brands. I've had a few dive watches down the years, but while I can accommodate many simple three-handers on leather, I can't do the same with be-bezelled watches on rubber.

I think I like to imagine that a watch could be an 'only' watch, and I can't do that with divers.

I don't like Seiko divers - too toolish. I do like a few dressy divers though:
