Few brands use color as well as Oris. In fact, from being on the forefront of using interesting materials like bronze to experimenting with a wide range of lovely dial colors, Oris has become a trendsetter in the world of watch color. While a certain part of that success comes from working with uncommon colors, like mint green or deep red, itís the quality of design in their core line-up that allows the fluid and successful use of many avant-garde shades.*
New for the HODINKEE shop, we find the Oris Aquis Date with a warm metallic green dial and bezel, and the lovely Oris Pointer Date with a rich red dial. Both are offered on either a bracelet or a matching leather strap, and if you're tired of treading water in a sea of bland black and blue dials, these new bold colorways have a personality all their own.*
Oris Aquis Date

Elegant and legible, the Aquis is Oris's everyday dive watch, with a slim case profile, a ceramic elapsed time bezel, and a date at six o'clock. On the latest in a long lineage of Aquis models, the green dial has a sunburst finish that bestows a tonal gradient to the color that changes depending on the surrounding lighting. That lovely metallic green color is matched by a shining green ceramic bezel insert. It's a classic dive watch with a distinct appeal that will stand out in bright sunlight and appear darker in more muted scenarios.*
With a 39.5mm wide steel case, sapphire crystal, and a Swiss automatic movement, the Aquis is dive ready and water resistant to 300m (1,000 ft).*Equally ready for a week in the office or a weekend on a dive boat, the minimal design of the Aquis promotes versatility while offering a lovely and uniquely green wrist presence. You just have to choose...leather strap or a steel bracelet? It's hard to go wrong.*
Oris Pointer Date

The Pointer Date is pure charm for your wrist. Based on a traditional form factor, the Pointer Date keeps things modern with a 40mm steel case. Maintaining an old-school dial design that is characterized by a lovely Arabic numeral layout, cathedral hands, and that classic radial date display with its Swiss-powered pointer hand, the Pointer Date has just enough vintage whimsy to feel much more special than its price tag would ever suggest.*
New for this model is a deep red dial that is nothing short of a head-turner. Oris has produced several versions of the Pointer Date in every color from grey to light blue and even mint green, but this rich red color simply glows under the Pointer Date's bubble-domed sapphire crystal. Red is not a color commonly seen on watch dials, especially in a darker, almost burgundy tone like in this new model from Oris. Available with either a multi-piece full steel bracelet or a tan deerskin leather strap, the red dial adds a unique and undeniably fun charm to the classically-minded Oris Pointer Date.*
