Each submission requires proof (receipt or URL link to a final sale) to be approved for the pricing guide.










The entire service that Bezelheads offers is currently free. You can submit a question or any feedback directly to Humphrey, and he will implement any necessary changes to improve and make Bezelheads a great community marketplace for watches.

Science News – A New Optical Atomic Clock’s Heart is as Small as a Coffee Bean

Atomic and optical clocks are fascinating things. We’ve covered them before on Worn & Wound, and since that article first published it seems as though there are almost monthly developments in the technology, with everything from greater accuracy to miniaturization at play. Case in point, a recent article in Science News covered a new type of optical clock using light tuned to rubidium atoms (with a “beat rate” of trillions of times per second), making it an extremely accurate point of reference for time. Furthermore, the atom chamber is just 3mm across and mounted on a silicon chip. Just to give you a sense of how small that is relative to what has come before, previous optical clock chambers measured closer to 1m across.

City Lab – Carefully, Japan Reconsiders the Trash Can

When I (Ilya) studied abroad in Japan years ago, I recall on numerous occasions having trash to throw out and no public trash can to put it in. As a native New Yorker, the lack of public trash bins (Japan removed them after a 1995 Aum Shinrikyo sarin gas attack) was a small but notable culture shock (though New York itself seems to be lacking in trash bins these days, too). This helped to inspire a culture of waste reduction in Japan that changed the way people dealt with everything from dog waste to cigarette butts.
