Thread: 19mm Perlon?

    19mm Perlon?

So, I'm thinking about trying a Perlon strap, and the perfect candidate is my Omega FOIS, which currently has a 20mm Omega Rallye strap squeezed on in between its 19mm lugs. I've only found one so far, from Fluco:

I may go ahead and try it, but was wondering if anyone knows of any others--everything I've seen seems to be either 18mm or 20mm. So right now I'm in Henry Ford land--I can have any color I want, so long as it's black.

squeezing a perlon is more fun than squeezing other things

That depends upon what you're squeezing, doesn't it.

I suppose that's true, though, I could try a 20mm. Except that I'm always worried about my complete lack of mechanical ability, and the ease with which I can screw up even the simplest of mechanical tasks, like changing a watch strap. Yes, even with the right tool.

I've got a few Perlon straps and they are the first 19mm ones i've seen, go for it, won't cost much.

But there are varying degrees of quality (as with everything), so I couldn't comment on Fluco perlon.

Man, I wanted a FOIS but that 19mm lugs put me off! Why couldn't they just add a mesly .5mm to each side and made strap lovers lives that much easier???

You're only out $14, why not try it? You might end up really happy with it.

My quick Google Search also turned up that the Fluco ones seem to be the only ones available.

Did you check with these guys? http://www.yellys.ch/_english/index.htm

Not sure if they carry uneven sizes, but they do carry alot of Perlon.

Yeah, I can't figure that out. You can't use any of your existing 20mm straps which seem the be the most common size.
