Spreading my wings (aka another 35mm manual)

Last week I decided to sell my blue Sekonda

today I sold it and *immediately* turned the proceeds into another watchypurchase, my first since late January, I think

Some of you will recognise it...

In three ways its outside my usual cosy rut:
    1 matte dial!
    2 no second hand!!
    3 no applied indices!!!

I've decided that I like 35mm watches in the evenings and at the weekends, so this will be one of my two weekend watches, taking it in turns with the highly shiny Luch

So now I have a happy little expectant wait

That is very nice. I always worry about watches without a second hand, but I don't know why as I used to have a one hander and that was fine.
35mm is a lovely size for relaxed wear.
How long a wait do you have? Is it not getting airborne express delivery?

    Also, comic sans ????

Yes this is late-communist 80s Glashutte. I think the company was called GUB officially. I get terribly lost tracking how exactly GUB broke up after the fall of the East German state and reunification. I should track down a link with it all I guess....

So the Glashutte Original website says:

With the reunification of Germany in 1990 came the transformation of VEB Glashutter Uhrenbetriebe into the Glashutte Uhrenbetriebe GmbH.

    Hope this helps

No second hand? If you like Luch, you can do without the minute hand, too!

    Wiki has a bit more:

Glashütte Original is a German prestige and luxury watchmaking company founded in 1994 by the privatization of VEB Glashütter Uhrenbetriebe (GUB).[1] GUB was an East German conglomerate formed in 1951 from the watch companies based inGlashütte. This included A. Lange & Söhne, founded in 1845, and now owned by Richemont. Glashütte Original is one of the few watchmakers that uses its own movements, and it has 10 proprietary movement innovations. Glashütte Original is currently owned by The Swatch Group.
