**** Whats our take on this ****

well over in the Russian forum we have a thread on watches called **** lets play a game - new or vintage or franked **** so lets try something similar here.

Basically what it is, if you wondering about a watch authenticity or age or if it's had work or anything like that you post pics here for people to say what they think of it . curiously sake .or if thinking of buying or just as a learning curve.

I will start with this one

I have certain doubts I wonder before saying them what others think and will they see the same issues ?

    As always Ismy

My problem is the I play only with American PWs. All my references are in those. II would pull out one book or another. And make a determination. Hardest part is the dial. Original or not?

My knowledge and experience of pocket watches is limited at best; but even to my untrained eye the top one is certainly wrong.... I can't think anyone would go to the trouble of decorating a dial just to have it partially obscured by that 'bumpy inner ring' (is it a bezel, a rehaut, or neither ? ). Plus it looks like the sub-dial hand has been chopped to clear the aforementioned 'bumpy ring'...

... and yes, I think you're right about the second one: Something is not right. I don't think it belongs in that case.

I can't comment on the movements.
Some people have opinions - The rest of us have taste.

yes the gold hands the detail to the movement the dial patterns all say it's a re-case to my eye, and that shall we call it a bezel that is something strange ..the movement looks all there so could work.

the other one think the case might be alright I was looking at more the movement is it my eyes or has the setting cog sheared off at the point of where you would put the key in to it to wind it up if you look at the cog for charging the barrel it has the raised bit in the middle that the key slides into on the other their is nothing there so in theory you could wind it up but not set the hands ?

That was pretty funny, seeing the quartz movement in it. I am hoping she just did not know. The case part with the train also looks modern.
