Thread: Watches IRL

    Watches IRL

OhDark30 mentioned earlier today how nice it is seeing pics in WRUW threads that tell you a little about the day to day lives of other forumites. We have some great photographers here, and they post some beautiful, artfully composed photos, but sometimes it's nice to see watches as their wearers in our community experience them in their day to day lives.

That post got me thinking, and I wanted to propose a new kind of WRUW thread, a companion to the regular daily ones.

Each day the first person to post in this thread gets to post time. Anyone who wants to participate that day has to take a photo of their watch in its natural setting (doing whatever they are doing) at that time in their local time zone (give or take 10 mins or so).

Does that make sense? And if it does, who's in?

Not sure that we've the traffic for two WRUWs? Also, the WRUWs are very nice, would be a shame to risk diluting them....

How about a series of threads that aren't day specific, but place specific eg. watches in front of the telly, watches in the cutlery drawer, watches in Geoff's bathroom, etc?

No no, not a second daily WRUW, a single ongoing thread (this one)

Could be interesting! Although, almost all my daily WRUW watches are photographed IRL, so I wouldn't be adding much to the thread.

But you'd be constrained to the particular time window for that day, so it would likely be something different

I like the idea, and I would love to read it. But, I'll be honest, I couldn't participate. I'm out by 6am, home about 8pm and have to fit in dinner, family time, dog walking and a bit more work by 10pm when I hit the sack. I don't even make the regular WRUW thread very often anymore...

That's the point though, it's supposed to be hard. It's warts and all WRUW, a quick snap on your phone without thinking about it or composing it

I'm the same but it gives me another option. If I can hit, or set, the time for that day then I will.
