Damasko decision

Hello all. I recently picked up a nice example of a DA44. As some of you might recall I have a fondness (obsession?) for mesh (I left a slinky steel trail on WUS). While the stock strap is very comfortable I bought the watch primarily owing to its reputation for withstanding serious use/abuse. I consider a leather strap less suited to that type of treatment so I tracked down a mesh that is close in color (that's colour to our UK members). I have gotten a mixed response from friends and family and my preference is the mesh but am curious about other members' views.

Tough one.....both brings out a different look, and I like them both.

If it was me, I would pick the mesh - only because I have something similar of black with red stitching (and it pairs well with the watch), plus a couple more on leather, and only one on mesh in my entire collection.

Before scrolling down to the second photo, the mental image I had was less than favorable. I don't know if it's the fascinating plant/brain thing its sitting on or the mesh on the watch, but I really like the looks of the second photo. There seems to be a nice interplay between the links of the mesh and the markers of that model Damasko. If it was the DA46 (I think that's the right number), I don't think it would work at all, but I like it enough that I'd give it a try.

Succulents frequently make interesting backdrops. This one is a variety of echeveria (gibbiflora).

I find it very comfortable since it is more flexible than most linked bracelets but lighter than bracelets of comparable thickness. You can't miss with mesh I always say (well not always, but sometimes - or at least I may have once thought about saying it).
