So datawise you’d be paying to download xMB, and when *unfolded* it takes up yGB on yr device?
In this case, it was advertised as ONLY 214GB for the UK file, it turned out to be a 703MB download, after unpacking it shows 2.03GB within the app
I was fine with the download as I was deliberately doing it on Wifi, but to expand up to over 2GB when actually on the phone is ridiculous.
It says it's on a trial period for 4 days , what happens then ?

I use HERE WeGo for offline maps.
For comparison, the App size is 80.7 MB. I have two maps downloaded. England is 595.6 MB, Poland is 605.8 MB.

That’s odd. The whole of the UK is only 744.9 MB
And here’s the storage for App, UK and Poland -

For the 5 trial days you have the full-featured app, after that it gets cut down to the free version. You can see a breakdown of the free and paid features when you tap on the trial counter.

Right, now it turns out everyone had a cool non-Google maps app, and moi, yammering about degooglification, was the only one stuck with Google!

I only really use the HERE WeGo maps in Poland to save on download. The rest of the time I use Google.

I use Google when driving for traffic avoidance
Moovit for public transport
CycleStreets for cycling
Guru for sneaky backstreet navigation and walking in unfamiliar towns
Paper maps for hillwalking
It's the final countdown! PM me before they're all gone!
