Thread: Boutique grand opening

    Boutique grand opening

The dealer from whom I buy most of my stuff has opened a boutique downtown attached to the Waldorf Astoria. Tonight was the grand opening, so I made the interminable trek down there. A gorgeous night, which was good since drinks, food, DJ, etc. were outside:

They had several very cool boutique only (or very hard to find) Langes:

Also this lovely blues boutique only 1815 flyback chrono:

I’m not a fan of many current IWC pieces because they’re mostly too big for my tastes, but this one I thought was very cool (albeit still too big), the 150 Year Tribute to Pallweber:

Also got a little goodie bag (the small book is a notebook, all blank pages inside):

    Thanks for the report, Mlcor.

Why didn't you get that 1815 chrono immediately? Or did you?!

It's "only" one of the best chronographs currently available.

Yes, guess you're right, but it's a fantastic watch, nevertheless.

True. The Lange rep was explaining that it uses the same movement as the $100k Big Date Flyback Chrono, and therefore at $52k was quite a bargain. I still didn't bite.

He's getting the Lange sports watch when it's released. Come on now.

Oh, fun fact--they had a bunch of six foot tall models (well, more like 6'5" in their heels) handing out the gift bags. Pictures? No. That would be creepy. And this is a family forum.

52k...well...it's roughly the same price of the VC Historiques new steel chrono. Hard choice.
