Dude, this is one seriously sick dive watch (and for a seriously great cause, too)!

It’s okay I can say that cos’ there’s some surf content forthcoming from a new partnership between Ulysse Nardin and non-profit, ONE MORE WAVE.

Ulysse Nardin are truly stoked to announce their partnership with One More Wave along with the introduction of a very cool Limited Edition Diver Deep Dive ‘’BLACK SEA’’ honoring the organization.

One More Wave’s goal is to help wounded or disabled veterans with surf therapy which aims to get them back in the water by providing customized surfing equipment and assistance.

Their mission to help veterans through ocean therapy struck a chord with Ulysse Nardin, which has a long-standing tie to the sea as well as the US Navy.

Their connection to the US Navy dates back to 1905, when they won a competition to create the most precise marine chronometer and subsequently became the official supplier to the American Navy.

In addition to a financial contribution, UN hopes to bring awareness and raise funds for the organization through the launch of the Diver Deep Dive One More Wave.

The watch features a striking yellow and black design, with a black DLC-coated Titanium case and 1000m water-resistance.

The case-back which unfortunately you can’t see here, is engraved with the “One More Wave” logo to signify the partnership.

Members of OMW designed the Limited Edition diver as a watch that would stand up to the highly variable pressures experienced while surfing, while also subtly reflecting the founders’ background in amphibious warfare.

The watch is based on the UN Diver Deep Dive HAMMERHEAD and because it has a DLC-coated case it is known as a Black Sea; hence the grey text inside the sub-dial.

One More Wave was founded by the US Navy SEALs community and is a certified non-profit 501(c)(3).

They are based in San Diego and have been devoted to helping disabled veterans since 2015.

One More Wave owns and operates their workshop making custom surfboards for wounded or disabled veterans that fits their needs and allows them to benefit from the unique therapeutic qualities of surfing.

In addition the SEALs surfboard pictured, did you spot the 1st Air Cav. board? Remind you of anything? Kinda’ reminiscent of 1/9 Cav. “AIRMOBILE” board from Apocalypse Now, don’t you think?

Which BTW is 40 years old, this year. I love the smell of neoprene in the morning! ;)

Basic spec. of the watch includes: a 46mm satin-finished DLC-coated Titanium case with a Sapphire crystal, 1000m, a diver’s bezel and an HEV. Power comes from a Cal. UN-320 Manufacture movement.

This is USA exclusive model. It has an MSRP of 13’500USD.

Thoughts? So many dive watches these days cater to the gentrified urbanite, so it’s refreshing to see a dive watch revert to type – in other words looking like a rugged diving instrument.

A great dive watch, designed by and for great men!
