Aspects of a watch you feel are overrated

This goes with the previous post of what complications and features don't bother you. Let's dial it up a notch and see which ones we feel are utterly unnecessary.

Mine is water resistance that exceeds 50m. That is more than enough for the pool. It may be worth having a 300m (3000m?) watch if I frequently dived, but I don't. The overwhelming majority of my watches never get wet so excessive water resistance is useless.
Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Lately it's the date... but funny enough there has been a few times lately I've looked down at my Hamilton to check the date and I've had to pull out my phone to check (which was annoying). I find a date useful, but I also like the aesthetics of a dateless dial, even sports watches... I prefer the no date Sub over the date version...

Dates on a dress watch are especially overrated for me, but it seems the norm with the lesser expensive ones like my Orients... not a deal breaker but If I were a watch designer the date on a dress watch would be the first to go.

That being said my current most desirable watch (that I want to get) has a date (with a cyclops) so...

Really, My Turtle sees the ocean at least a few times a week. I'd feel naked without a watch on my wrist. I'm only watchless while showering or sleeping.
