    But, if you must: A little iron oxide (aka rust) in acetone should give the desired effect.

    Yes, I took notice. But that can't be an excuse. After all, there isn't a valid reason to exclude the Mühle from the experiment.

    I must confess that, despite my dislike for faux patina, I would probably had already got one of these, because they're very reasonably priced for the specs.

    I'm pretty sure I had one of those weird crown watches from Steinhart , I sold it to a guy in Spain or Portugal as it happens if I recall
    But it wasn't a Patinaed one, it was just a small seconds.
