It's been a looooonnngg time since I was active here, but unfortunately for you lot I'm back.

Thought I might as well start off with an update on the collection, which has thinned out a little. The biggest change is that, in a moment of uncharacteristic maturity, my wife and I realised that if we both sold a Rolex we could pay off the mortgage. So we did.

I'm now left with this lot. Other that the G-Shocks (which are great for what they are but not something I "love") there's nothing here I could let go off.

Ad far as I'm concerned the Sub and the Speedy are two of the most iconic watches ever. The Sub is the watch I always promised myself, and I love the symetry of the no date version. The Speedy is one of the few chronos I think look right, has bags of history and as I was born in '69 it's also pretty relevant to me.

The Meistersinger is a great dress watch and just pretty cool. I love it.

The gold Rotary was my 21st birthday present from my parents and the Ben Sherman was a present from my wife upon the birth of my daughter.

The '61 Shockmaster was my (late) father's 21st birthday present from his parents and the '65 was a wedding anniversary present from my nan to my grandad.

The Meistersinger, Rotary and Ben Sherman are all on Toshi straps. The Meistersinger is on Shell Cordovan (horse leather). I can't recommend these straps enough, they're fantastic.

The only addition I might make in the near future is a Steinhart Ocean One GMT for holidays etc.

My 12 year old daughter seems to have inherited my passion for watches. I'll post up her collection soon, which is quite impressive for her age.

The Submariner and Speedmaster speak for themselves, and you’d be sorted with just those two.

There’s a strong British presence in the remainder, and the Rotary is quite similar to the one I had before developing a watch habit, although mine was in steel. It was breaking my Rotary that led me to buy a G-Shock, and then it was G-Shocks that led to my watch habit.

Welcome back. In all honesty your at a number (You may have missed the we don't count G-Shocks rule ) that I strive for. Somehow mine keeps leveling off at your number times three. There are just too many great watches out there, but probably once I retire I'll probably cut it in half, or at least ten or less. Thanks for sharing.

This is the first year for as long as I can remember that the size of my collection had reduced.

Am am very happy with it as it stands, with only the GMT (mentioned above) on my radar at the moment.
