Antarctica, the southernmost continent and site of the South Pole, is a virtually uninhabited, ice-covered landmass.

It is the inspiration for a new Limited Edition version of UN’s Chronometer 44MM – the Diver X Antarctica.

Ulysse Nardin has refocused its attention towards the Diver Chronometer 44MM which it will release in 3X Limited Editions of 300 pieces for 2020.

UN has literally gone mental for the letter “X” which they have incorporated into all their marketing spiel and unsurprisingly, even directly into some new models.

The UN brand wants you (yes, you sat on the sofa with your Latte) to experience, explore and get generally excited about a new extension of their existing brand that has the X factor.

Not an unknown quantity, but in this instance “X” as in extreme as these models are inspired by three extreme points on the globe.

BTW all Diver X models are distinguished by a large “X” which has been proudly slapped into the middle of the dial where it (actually quite nicely) integrates into the overall design.

This is the new Penguin-friendly Diver X Antarctica. Its 44mm Titanium case has a water-resistance of 300m. The case of each Diver X timepiece is individually numbered on the side.

Power comes from a Ulysse Nardin in-house caliber UN-118, an automatic COSC-Certified Chronometer.

The Diver X Antarctica LE is presented on a white rubber strap with Titanium elements.

The matte white rubber strap recalls the clean and austere lines of the Earth’s Southernmost Continent with ice blue touches on the dial reflecting the icebergs floating in the sea there.

Diver X Antarctica Limited Edition has a gray face marked with a bold “X”. The crown, horns and case back are all made from Titanium.

The geographical coordinates of the Antarctica [90°00.00?S x 00°00.00?W] as well as the route of the Vendée Globe race are stamped on the back of each watch.

Its MSRP is 8’900USD.Thoughts? It’s seriously cool! ;)
