    The Spencer Davis Group in its original incarnation with the Winwood bros was the best thing to come out of Brummy in the early sixties. It was the perfect combination of ingredients to define British white soul.

    I was a fan. My first reaction was he can’t be 81! Then I remembered that Grace Slick will turn 81 on Oct. 30. (Yeah, I was an obsessive Jefferson Airplane fan.)
