After a years long battle with cancer Billy Rieflin. He played in more than a few of my favourite ridiculously self indulgent bands; King Crimson, Pigface, RevCo Swans and Ministry amongst many others.

Indeed, and he was a close friend of one or two people I work with (Markus Reuter in particular.) I didn't know him personally, but everyone who did have said he was brilliant, generous and kind hearted - also a perfectionist with high expectations. He was rather notorious for being able to memorize songs after a single run-through, a sort of musical "photographic memory."
Too many watches, not enough wrists.

He was a fine trumpeter, but sometimes seen as a Miles Davis copyist. That wasn’t entirely fair, although Davis was his mentor and clearly influenced his style.
