Watches purchased while on Capri
My wife saw the billboard, and decided she wanted a Capri Watch. Swarovsky crystals surrounding a fine quartz watch. No, I won't show you a picture - it might get me banned from this Forum.
While there, I was online shopping in all the usual places. I found this marvelous Duo - just the sort of thing a true WIS dreams of. The perfect pair - one is new, quartz, and huge. The other has taken many a licking and keeps on ticking - the original subject of TV commercials where it was shown strapped to boat propellers, etc. and always emerged victorious.
So which would you rather own - a Swarovsky piece of bling, or these fine instances of watchmaking history? (oh...my purchase was MUCH less expensive...but I'm making up for that).

Evolutionary Deadend
Well, I like the older Timex, to be sure. And the newer one is at least functional, if not 'historic'.
And I'm not a fan of bling - but Swarovsky crystals ehhh? The ones that look like little animals, mermaids and things? That would be kinda cool - a Bear at 12:00, an Owl at 1:00........................

For that matter...how about a tutorial on resizing the Timex mesh?

YouTube to the rescue. Both Timex bracelets now fit my puny left wrist. 9 (count 'em 9) links had to come off the Speidel. Fortunately, I got it right on the first try, because resizing these puppies is a real bitch. I imagine it gets easier, but I don't really want to go through the pain of getting good at this particular skill! Also, this particular Timex 100 is gold tone and the bracelet is silver SS - it doesn't really match. Functionally, though, the two are a perfect match and epitomize the era - so they will stay that way for awhile.

I have a bit of a 'soft spot' for old Timex 'tickers'

well I'm in the love old Timex group got one from the 80's and been looking for a military Timex for a while now 
but the Swarovsky crystals are acceptable for those who like them. my 73 year mother likes them so takes all tastes I suppose
